2016 Activities
The Paulian LaSalle Confreres organized a number of activities throughout the year 2016.
1. The 25th LaSalle National Leadership Convention
5 delegates attended this convention that was held in St. Michael’s Institution from 14th till 19th December 2015. All the 5 delegates were Form Six students. These students came back and helmed the PLC committee and carried out the year long PLC programmes.
2. La Salle Day of Prayer for Peace (LDOP)
A night of reflection was held in SMK St Paul to spread awareness during the month of October. Prior to that, an interfaith prayer was held during the morning assembly.
3. Orientation for the Form 1 students
Orientation for the Form 1 students was held to enlighten the new comers about the background and the history of the school during the Orientation Week.
4. Founder’s Day Celebration
A short sketch on the life of John Baptiste De La Salle was presented together with La Sallian songs. The selling of cookies and souvenirs was held to collect funds for PLC activities.
5. Station Games
Station games were held during one of the Wednesday club activities to let the students interact with each other. This also allowed the members to have fun and enjoy PLC as their choice of club.
6. Kg Belihoi Visit.
40 PLC members and 4 teachers took part in this year’s visit to the Kg Orang Asli Settlement in Kg Belihoi. This program was carried out on the 3rd of September. The PLC members cooked their own food for the indigenous people and they also arranged some games and a colouring competition for the children.
7. Visit to Vinashini Orphanage.
18 members of PLC and 4 teachers went over to the Vinashini Orphanage home on 6th March to deliver some food and clothing for the children there. The members helped to clean the hall and the rooms of the orphanage at the end of their visit.
