Throughout the year 2015, many educational and fun activities were organized and successfully carried out by the committee of the English Language Society. The Annual General Meeting was held in January 2015 and new committee members were elected. The members got to know one another and the committee decided to seek suggestions about the activities that the members wished to be carried out.
The activities kick-started with the Spelling Bee which was a huge success as many members wanted to show off their capabilities in spelling. Other activities included Drama , Public Speaking, Scrabble, and Word Search. In conjunction with the Mighty Minds competition, a general knowledge quiz was held to test the knowledge of our fellow members on World Geography, Science, Sports and Music. The activity that really became a favourite among the members was the Treasure Hunt inspired by the television reality show “The Amazing Race” . In a nutshell, this year was indeed a very successful and memorable year for the winners with prizes.
The society would like to express its gratitude to our teacher advisors who have guided the committee in carrying out the activities successfully. We look forward to another wonderful year in 2016 and hope that our members have benefitted from the activities that were carried out.
