The Annual General Meeting for the term 2011 was held on the 12th. of January. We usually have meetings on alternate Wednesdays from 7.40 to 8.45 in the morning. Thevarams, mantras, bhajan songs and the significance of festivals as well as rituals are taught. Other activities include talks and quizzes. A Treasure Hunt and a Thevaram cum Bhajan singing group competition were also held. Apart from these, prayer sessions are conducted every Friday by Mdm. Kalai.

Ponggal was celebrated on a large scale in collaboration with the Tamil Language Society on the 26th of February which was a Saturday. Ponggal cooking competition, pot-breaking competition, kabadi matches, ‘kolam’ drawing competition and a Talent Quest were held. The Principal was impressed with the large turnout and also because of the participation of students from other races.

The next main event will be the prayers which will be held in the Lobak Subramaniam temple before the PMR exam. We could not have a camp this year as the second semester has been filled with activities such as the mini-sports, ‘1 Murid 1 Sukan’ and the school concert. However, we are still trying to work out a one-day camp.

The club would like to thank the Principal, Mdm. Yap See Moi, the students and all the teachers who have supported our activities and also in helping to sponsor them.
